Random Thoughts
* Why did my mother call me last Wednesday, the day before she had surgery to say, "I want to give you my recipe for sweet potato pie and potato salad". When I asked why, she said, "If you have to prepare Christmas dinner for the family you need to make some potato salad and sweet potato pies just in case." I screamed, "in case of what." She paused, "you know that anytime they put you to sleep during surgery there is no guarantee you are going to wake up, so you need to learn how to make these dishes." I was furious and scared, I can't lose my mother, I'm thinking. "No, you are going to make that stuff for Christmas or you can tell me how to make it before Christmas, right after your surgery. Anyway, why are you having this surgery if you think you are not going to be here after?" I wanted to know. "Don't get upset, I wanted you to know how to make these dishes because the only person that likes your sweet potato pie and potato salad is the dog. He really likes it".....

* Why does the person you help the most with improving their lives hurt you the worst? You give them all your time, job referrals, you may even hire the person, take them home when they are sick, defend them when they are being attacked on the job, and they turn right around and bite the hand that feeds them.

* Why do my shoes hurt my feet even when they are too big and are slipping off when I walk?

* How come you see so many people walking, but they have a cell phone on their ear talking like they are at home on the phone? If they save all the money from paying the huge cell phone bills they could buy a car.

* Why do so many people say I don't believe in God but the first time something bad happens to them they call on him for help? Then when they are okay or their problems are solved they go back to saying, ain't no such thing as God.

* Why does a woman fake orgasms when she would get more pleasure if she just told the man what they need to feel good?

* Why do so many people rent from rent -a-center paying all that money per week, almost twice what they would have to pay to purchase what they are renting?

* Why does people working in someone else store give away food, clothing, etc when folks are going through their line, and when the manager say we can't give out raises because we are in the red, the person screams murder.

I pray your mother will be fine.

As for the rental furniture, it's a trick. No doubt about that. But for people who have bad credit and no furniture, it's a viable option to get something in the house.

Being poor is expensive.

Lady Rose,

First of all I missed you and ur postings a lot when I was moving. I am sad also I left STL and will not be running in Forest Park anymore. :(

I am praying for your mother feel good. I am sure she will be out and be OK. U know why I love Black families. Just for people like your mother and yourself. That kind of thing only happens most of the time in Black family. Such a strong family bond exist in Black families. I am in love with it.

When it comes ppl who say there is no GOD they do not mean when they say it. Godlessness (yeah I invented a new word in English) does not exist. Everybody have thier own way of asknowleding it. PPL do not acept my way of believing GOD. I believe in God but no religion.

PPL talking on the phone obnoxious "new spelling:)" makes me mad. Especially in train or bus. OH nooo I want to jump in their throut and kill them.

Ppl tend bite feeding hand always. That is why when u give you should not have expectation. That is the way I am.

Lady Rose I love you. Keep us updated about your mom.

Love,

I got questions too. " Why do some people use their lives as an excuse not to try then spit on others who did? "

" How come in the black community it's hard as heck to find someone to celebrate your accomplishments with you, but easier than anything to find one to put you down? "

" How come we are losing so many influential people this year? "

" How come a person's looks are more important than a person's dreams or aspirations? "

" How come love and happiness never seems to come to those who need it the most? "

I got more questions but these are the main ones I always wanted to know the answer to. I guess we all have our questions.

As far as the one who bites the hand that feeds them, may I suggest that you intentionally dump that person and tell them why.

Be near a door, becasue slamming one can really add emphasis in these situations.

Rose... I hope you understood that "Jingo Bells" was completely sarcastic.

You did... I know.

I have so many of the same questions. If you ever find answers, post them, okay? Until then, keep asking. You help us all think.

I hope the surgery is a success.

The surgery will be a success, don't worry.

These were all so true, sad and funny at the same time.

I can tell you why I fake orgasms. Well, one is because I use it as an excuse for me stopping. I say, I just had an orgasm, now I am tired, sorry babe. That way, he feels like he has accomplished something.

I just started reading your blog. And so far, I enjoy your questions.

Why does the person you help the most with improving their lives hurt you the worst? Because they know you, they know your weaknesses, so they know where to hurt you.

I hope your mom is doing fine. Don't worry...

The cell phone thing really peeves me too. There's nothing more irritating than a person in line at the store, or shopping, or at the playground with their kids, and a phone is glued to their ears.

Rose, one more comment. I noticed your comments on Mz. Gig's blog. I had to do two separate blogs because my postings started to get too diverse, controversial, for the children's lit crowd. This way I can maintain a professional blog, and a "real me" blog. Please do me a big favor, and keep that on the...downlow...if you will.

Goddess:
My mother's surgery went well. She is fine. As far as the rental on furniture, I know someone who pays 300 a week to rent a living room and dinette set. Well if that person saved 4 weeks, they can buy that themselves. There are stores here where you can buy each for 500.00 each. At least it would be theirs.

Nothegame: No you didn't move before we met. You know I love you too and now my blogger friend, who's gonna help me care for the people in St. Louis.

Jazegama2-
Gurl this is a doggy eat dog world. Folks will take advantage of people. Every chance I get I try to train folks about saving and budgeting.

Groove:
Later this week I will email you for some help on some things.

MisplacedAmbition: you got that right. But what she said must be true. I saved two sweet potato pies for my family and guess what? Today (dec.11) I am throwing both out. One never touched and another with two slices out. I didn't even know they were still in the refrigerator.

Stacy-Deanne-
Those are great questions too.

Crallspace- I think they know by now...

Bostonpobble:
When I find the questions out, I'll let you know for sure.

Ruben:
You are too funny.

Brea and GeorgiaPeach:
Mom is doing great. I took her out to dinner yesterday.

GeorgiaPeach:
Most people say the same thing. BUt what if you want to have that orgasm? You have to communicate to that person what he needs to do to make it happen.

Lady in Satin- come back. Where are you hiding and why?

Edz:
That's a good analogy. I think you are on to something.

Brotha Buck: Oooh that cell phone think irks me. I don't want to know what folks are talking about while I am in a restaurant eating, etc. I won't tell a soul...

That's a lot to think about Rose. Great reflective post for the season. I haven't forgotten about the tag. I'm still trying to find out who I look like.

Ofcourse. He pleasures me. It is just we have been together for so long. I am at the point, where sometimes, I am ready to get it over with.

things that make you go hmmm... for sure.

just stopping by for a needed pick me up. As usual, you got me thinking -- I'll be praying for you, your mom and the rest of the family.

Rose said...

PrincessDom:
Thanks. I'm looking forward to you completing that tag.

Goddess:
Oh boy you should see what these folks are paying. We hear it all day long. When they miss one or two payments, they come and repo couches, tv, steroes.

Teenlife:
Thanks. You are the best.

Dr. Deb:
Mom is fine. Thank you.

Len:
Thank you. I think I found the answer when I found the two potatoes pies still in the refrigerator. Apparently my husband and daughter didn't like them either.

GeorgiaPeach:
Honestly, I hear this from many women. But I just don't want to waste that feeling. If I have to do it, I want something out of it too, even when I'm too tired.

Dee:
Yeah, I do know what you mean.

Michelle:
I got your book. Surprise. I am reading it now.
