Change is Here! Congratulations to OBAMA & Biden!

There are some things you can just feel in your bones. This morning at 5:00 a.m. I got up and rushed to get in line to vote before 6:00 a.m. I reached the line at 5:30 a.m. I was number 382. I left the line at 10:15 a.m. almost 5 hours later. But in life the adage, "no pain, no gain" was at work. I have never seen what I saw today. These people of every race, stood together and made a decision that we as a country needed change. It had nothing today with self. It was about working together as a people to help make change for the people.

In one small city in St. Louis, some stood more than 8 hours. Hundreds who had already voted, stayed and cheered them on. Making sure that folks would not give up and leave. The last person voted about 10:00 p.m. and the crowd that stayed cheered every voter who came out the door until the last voter.

This is what Barack Obama is about. Change! A people working together for it's people- that's what it is about.

In line today I met strangers. We talked as we waited. People where saddened that his grandmother did not live to see her grandson make history. A voter said, " She knew. She brought him as far as she could, and she knew that God would do the rest! " People were laughing and talking and witnessing. Volunteers were handing out coffee, granola bars, and at some places even medical help was available. There was no way history was not going to be made. Change was in motion. You could see it in the long lines. You could feel it in the air.
Now let us work together as a people the way we did to elect the new president. Let us work for change for the betterment of all mankind! May God best our new President and Vice-President and America!

I was so proud to be standing in that line at 6:30am waiting for polls to open at 8am (I voted early). It wasn't too long ago when my parents' parents could not vote and my parents integrated in school. Nope not that long ago at all. I can't wait to tell my grandchildren about it.
