Green Eyed Monster: Another name is Hater!

A male friend sent this to me and I thought that I would share

HOW TO HANDLE HATERS:

A hater is someone that is jealous and envious and spends all their time trying to make you look small so they can look tall. When you make your mark, you will always attract some haters... That's why you have to be careful who you share your blessings and your dreams with because some folk can't handle seeing you blessed...It's dangerous to be like somebody else...

If God wanted you to be like somebody else He would have given you what he gave them. You don't know what people have gone through to get what they have... (The problem I have with haters is that they see my glory, but they don't know my story...) If the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence, you can rest assured that the water bill is higher there too. We've all got some haters among us:

1. Some people don't like it that you can* Come to church* Get your praise on * Bless His Holy Name*
2. Haters don't want to see you happy*

3. Haters don't want to see you succeed* Haters don't want you to get the victory

Most of our haters are people that are supposed to be on our side.

How do you handle the haters who you at least expect to have your guard up against?

You can handle your haters by:

1. Knowing who you are & who your true friends are
2. Having a purpose
3. By remembering what you have is by divine prerogative and not human manipulation.

Purpose does not mean having a job. You can have a job and still be unfilled. A purpose is having a clear sense of what God has called you to be. Your purpose is not defined by what others think about you. You will always be trying to get stuff because the more stuff you have will improve what others think about you, but what others think will last as long as the stuff last.
When God gives you favor, you can tell your haters, 'Don't look at me...Look at who is in charge of me... Remember, it ain't about you, but it's all about God.
Note: I needed to read this. I wish that we all had the spirit of helping our fellowmen but most of the time it is so hard to find. But I have found some great supporters in my life and please know that I appreciate each of you!

Incredible! In the past few days I must have come across several blogs with just this subject thread in mind. In fact, this particular piece miss Rose is the 3rd time I've come across it in as many days, and I'm on the cusp of writing up a blog dealing with haterade myself.

What does it say about a person who cannot do for themselves (or maybe they can, but lack the skills to put their best foot forward to accomplish what they need to) and wish the worst or wish less than the best towards their fellow man or sister.

Instead of applauding accomplishment, we (and I use the word very freely here) secretly wish for that individual to fail. What is that anyway? And what happened in a person to make them that way? I know I have some great supporters in my circle, and I would hope that the haters that are circling my wagon are at a minimum. But regardless, if in fact I have great numbers in the haters, I will never give in to them. Hell, they're only making me stronger!

Haters are near the top of my prayer lists. We're told to bless them that curse us...so I get it done first so I can concentrate and praise.

In the everyday stuff, I don't give them place because I don't have room for negativity in my life, it's just too full.

That's a good message...my favorite thought/scripture to combat that/them/those is Psalms 23:5 "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies..." so HATE ON, haters...you're good for my ego...lol.

Yeah, I've also got some of them. The only difference, they've got more than two eyes on my success and happiness :P

I'm so busy trying to keep up with MY stuff, that haters don't enter the picture very often. LOL.

I'm still entertained on how they do what they do.

Too much hate can drain one's reserves. Forgiveness is divine and allows you to move on to more important matters.

Peace and blessings,

Haters hate because they have not yet found their purpose -- divine prerogative and not human manipulation.

"How do you handle the haters who you at least expect to have your guard up against?"

I seek God making sure that as His ambassador I act accordingly. However, though sometimes I have failed I'm getting better at listening first.

We all know being amongst haters it is easy to be dragged into their game.

MM's Book Club #3 has posted this week's questions. Stop on by to discuss and post! I hope that next Friday we’ll discuss chapter questions and answers up to and including chapter six. Thanks!

I posted this as well. I think it was much needed. Seems like I'm not the only one who thinks it was.

Essence did an article on this recently. Hating has become a real problem. I honestly do believe though that appreciation and praise needs to be taught. From a young age. .

Oh my goodness. This is a wonderful post. I'm so glad I decided to drop by. This is right on time, for me because I'm going through some stuff with someone I never thought would act "hateful” towards me. The line that said "be careful who you share your blessings and your dreams with" really stood out. I hope you don't mind me printing a copy of this. S***, I might even put this on my answering machine.

Peace, and thanks again.

As my little cousins would say, I just keep my hater blocker on.

I agree with Kathi...there is just so much going on with my life, I don't even have time to acknowledge the haters. That is what they thrive on your attention, so withhold it and keep your power. I don't need their approval or their support, lol! I always tell my husband that those that have least always give the most and it is especially true in my neighborhood. Some of my neighbors would not spit on me and put me out in case of fire, but they have no problem letting their kids share in our pool and trampoline not to mention the too frequent meal or snack... No time, Rose, man up! :)
