Are you at peace with yourself and the things you do?

Are you at peace with yourself and the things you do? Sunday, February 19, I spoke to a church group filled with parents and teenagers. What was so amazing about this is the number of teens in this church. They were having a Black History program and the teens recited poetry, sang solos, and just cheered everyone on. I was the keynote speaker. Speaking to the teens and seeing the impact of what I was saying made me feel great when they gave me a standing ovation. But that's not what made me feel good. What I felt good about was this: the teens who bum rushed me after. They wanted to write books, poetry and start their own companies. Some stood there with their parents inquisitive wanting to know more about how they could do better so that they could accomplish their dreams.

Sometimes in life you can have a very negative experience that makes you want to give up on helping others and just like that God sends you right back in the field letting you know in no uncertain terms this is where he wants you. Every person I meet along the way will not be accepting of my message to strive for the best, and to do your best but someone along the way will know that they can have all their dreams with a little hard work and staying in school.

You know what? That's what makes me happy. Working with people and sharing my experiences and connecting those who want it to local resources and placing them in jobs, that is who I am and I will not let anyone change me from that course because for one thing-that's what I am destined to do. I am at peace with myself even when others try to hurt or destroy my confidence and my efforts. I am at peace with knowing that I can make a positive impact in somebody's life. That's what makes my day.

What makes your day?

Making a difference with someone is always important Rose whether it's with one person or one hundred people. Anyone should feel good about that and I am glad you do too. The same thing would make my day. What would also make my day is if I could take someone with low self-esteem and no confidence and show them that they are just as important as someone else. That would really make my day because I used to go through the same negative feeling of not loving myself. That's no way for anyone to live.

I have to agree.

Makes me wonder how the "other half" think...

I think that having that inner strength to be at peace is an amazing thing to celebrate. Sometimes I am at peace with myself, and at other times I wrestle to find that peace within. When I hurt (for whatever reason) that peace and stability disappears. It's so important to have self-love and peace of mind. I wish it for everyone.

Whoo-Hoo! Good for you, Rose! Good for you. And yes, I'm at peace with myself, who I am, and the choices I make. It's a great feeling, isn't it?

I have an inner peace with myself by reflecting upon where I am and who I am spiritually, then my day goes well. I also find that inner peace when others find me an inspiration by the example of how I live my life. I was always told its not how many we help but the one we help along our journey of life.

I would like to add you to my link, your blog is very uplifting and positive.

What makes my day is helping people in ways that can't help themselves. Also, receiving unexpected compliments and acknowlegdements about my character. It's nice when people let you know they see the good qualities in you that you're trying to project but you weren't so sure they were clearly visible.

I am at peace when all goes smoothly, and calm..and I achieve a goal, no matter how big or small it may be. To me, every day that God has me on this earth is a blessing, and that alone, is true peace.

I applaud you for reaching out to so many teens. The world is a better place because of mentors like you.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Love,
Sarah
