Is Different a Good Thing?

Honestly I said that I would not watch American Idols but I am so use to following this show as I work on manuscripts, surf the net, or read my email that I feel like something is off if I change the channel. That said I still can not figure out why Megan Joy lasted as long as she did. Does looks really get you that far? I mean she isn’t stunning beautiful but she looks alright, yet people thought she was spectacular. Why? Do tell!

There are some stand outs like Danny, Lil Rounds and Adams and a couple more might I add, but for the life of me I do not know why they chose the songs they sing? Who in the heck is helping these potential singers? Well at least the right person was sent squawking and flapping her wings. One thing about it, Megan is different. I suppose in a world of people doing the same thing, that is a good thing. I just could not see people buying her CD. As for the possible winner, I think Adam got this!

Don't Vote for Me

This has been the busiest year of my life. In that regards I have not been able to do many of the things I used to enjoy. For instance, I don’t watch the American Idols like I used to do. As I type on the computer, I listen, not look at the performances. Thus, I can really hear the voices. From this I knew who would go and who should have stayed. But public opinion and votes counts. So imagine how disappointing this season has been. Singers who were really good were sent off too soon and others got a major pass.

This week was the only real week I was shocked. Jason oh course, sounded horrible. But voters have been trying to send Syesha home for weeks. Truthfully to me she is the best female singer this season but neither the audience nor Simon wants her. Why! Simon wants someone who will sell Cd’s. Syesha could sell a million units but David and Ryan would sell more and have more longevity. See most of the people I know would burn a CD before buying one. This certainly affects artists like former Idols Ruben and Fantasia.

Jason has been accused of mouthing, "don’t vote for me". I wondered had he not, would the public have voted him off. Clearly he was ready to go. I think he wanted Syesha to stay because she performed way better than he did. Simon on the other hand has his mind on the money maker. Therefore, the real meaning of this show has been lost….

American Idol Review

Occasionally, I will blog about the American Idols as I am a part of the American Idols Bloggers. So I have to write blogs on this show every now and then. The final four really started off pretty boring until I heard these folks sing. These are my early favorites. If you are watching this show, who are yours?

Former Idols

Where are they now? They are doing some amazing things. I guess this American Idol thing really works. Mhmm.

Jennifer Hudson- 3rd African American ever to grace Vogue magazine. The only other two were Halle Berry and Oprah Winfrey. Wow...what company! Have won a screen actor's guild award, A globe and is favored for an Oscar. Currently checking out major film scripts for major directors and will release a CD this year. Breaking all kinds of records for first time as an actress.

Fantasia: Released two Cd's. One certified platinum, and the other still climbing the chart. Starred as herself in the highest watched ever Lifetime Movie about herself and based on her book which is a New York Bestseller.
