It is said that a boy misses his dad even if he has never met him. The son longs for a relationship with his father. When I co-wrote A Hole in My Heart with my nephew, Edward Booker, I finally realized how deep that hole in the heart could be for a boy desiring to have a relationship with his father.

A Letter To My Father:
I’ve been inspired throughout my life by special circumstances and unique experiences. Foremost, I grew up with a family that injected me with unconditional love and enduring confidence. This is my foundation … the family holidays and celebrations with my maternal lineage … supportive smiles in audiences at school programs … guiding hands to complete homework and special projects in the wee hours of the morning.

Boys do need their fathers. It's so ironic that this young man feels his father has not been there for him, because oh my goodness, he looks like his father made him by himself.
Wow, what an honest and sad letter. Although I'm not a big fan of Diddy, it's good to know that he's been there for Quincy.
