What Do Over Changed the Direction of Your Life?
What is the one thing in your life that changed your career direction? For me it was getting my books published by publishers who were more interested in money than quality. It wasn't just the covers that I disliked, it was also the editing that left much to be desired. I felt that I could do a better job, so I studied the market and learned a new skill.

These are the books that I redid and it changed one of my career directions.

This cover was my idea. I kept it in the change over because the book is about substance abuse and the person who did the cover by hand is an alcoholic who remain sober long enough to draw and paint the cover. Unfortunately he is now chronic. Also the book was co-written by my then 14-year-old nephew for young readers.

Yes you've got to do what you need to do for you Rose. I see what you mean about the covers. I prefer yours to theirs too.

You're right ~ they were being lazy and cheap. Packaging is king in our business. Glad you stood up for your work and changed the covers. And I am saddened to read about the artist for A Hole In My Heart. Such talent...

Sending you my thoughts this Thanksgiving. I know the year was a rough in many ways for you and your family.

As the one who labored over the projects, you knew the vision to include the packaging. You made the right choice to do it your way!
