The Debate

I wasn't impressed with the debate. Gov. Sarah Palin did not answer questions and sure she was too flip/sarcastic. But people are scared and are looking for a leader who is experienced to get us out of this mess, not someone who spin stuff with a flip statement. She couldn't even pronounce names. Plus how do you solve problems if you don't meet and sit down? Shoot first and talk later is their theme. She was evasive and kept winking and giggling and was being so sarcastic. I don’t need to like my President; (giggling and smiling like in a pageant) I just want him to have the best interest of the country, be respected and is able to build relationships. I want him to have good negotiating skills and have a team that simply knows what they are doing. I simply was not impressed.

Anybody who puts Gov. Palin and Senator McCain in just because they don’t want a Black man in office deserves what they are going to get and that is sad. But if you are going to cut your own neck to stop the best candidate because of his skin color, don’t start crying about losing your job, home, money, and faith when you allowed your prejudice to pick a team that could care less about you. Look at the economy today as compared to when President Bill Clinton was in office. You can say all the negative stuff you can about Clinton, but truth be told we were better off as a people, as a country than ever. Do you want the same Republican Party in who caused this mess and who even wants to repair it with more of the same? If you do, then I pray for you.

Senator Biden simply won the debate and he and Senator Obama should simply win the election. That’s all I need to say about the subject. It is what it is!

Yeah, there was some serious "side-stepping" with the questions.

on his radio show, Steve Harvey mentioned how he was driving around someplace and saw a broken down house with an overgrown yard and three old cars with "For Sale" signs scrawled on them in chalk. Stuck in the yard were McCain placards.
The question he had was, if you're down on your luck and having trouble making ends meet, why would you vote for more of the same?

THANK YOU! I *want* my leaders to be smarter than me and I don't need to like them or want to hang out with them.

Mind you, I find Obama and Biden far more likeable than I do McCain and Palin but that's just me ~ and I've voted for people I *didn't* like on a personal level because I truly thought they would make a better leader.

Rose, as usual, your passion comes through loud and clear. You'll find discussions on some of these same issues on my site. The dynamics of the debate were intriguing - in front of the camera and behind. As moderator Gwen Ifill discovered, the rules of the game may change (in this case the debate), but you still have to keep the ball moving.

That's the major reason why I just want to get to the voting part. Skip all the chit chat. I'm an "action" person. I don't need to do all the talk.

I was also non plussed by the debate. Whatever I already felt still remains.

I do loathe the not answering the question circle talking approach more than ever though.

I'm not a fan of Obama, and it has absolutely nothing to do with his color. I hope that you don't believe that someone who chooses not to vote for him simply is voting against his skin color.
I'm not a fan of McCain or Palin either. I was extremely irritated at her flippant attitude and I don't find her 'cute' or 'funny' at all. I've always been irritated by people who try to get out of answering a question by attempting to switch the topic and it's an insult to my intelligence that they believe I don't notice what they're doing.

So...I'm left with voting for the party rather than the candidate, because frankly, I'm not impressed with what either party has offered us this election.
