God is So Awesome

My niece finally moved into her new apartment after waiting on something to become available large enough for her family. She moved in but did not have much furniture as we have been pricing beds, living room furniture and other things for her place. The apartment recently built came with a refrigerator, stove and central air. When I went to look at the apartment I thought it was beautiful. It has two baths and three bedrooms, and huge walk in closets. When I went to look out the back door to see her yard she told me that the central air unit had been stolen. I thought her backdoor was not secure enough and told her to call the apartment’s office and ask them to put up the screen door and to secure the back door. She did not do this.

Last week she decided to stay in her home with her 3 year old daughter and nearly 2 year old son. While asleep on the second level, someone kicked in the back door and stole her refrigerator filled with food. When she awoke the next morning she found her back door wide open and the refrigerator gone.

The apartment people came and secured the back door and gave her a new refrigerator but I told her to tell them to move her and she said no I waited too long for this place. The area she lives in is supposedly a safe place, however safe is becoming a place that’s hard to find.

She is blessed that the thief only wanted the refrigerator and that no one else entered the apartment due to the door being left wide opened. We are so thankful that she stayed sleep because she is a little fighter and would have fought whoever had invaded her home. Even though she is small, she is very strong. I told her that God kept them asleep because they were safer. The robber I believe did not think anyone was home because as I said she only had one bed upstairs and there was nothing on the first level but what the apartment provided. I am so thankful that God protected my favorite niece, grand niece and grand nephew. God is so awesome!

That is awesome that God kept them safe. I know how hard it is trying to find somewhere safe without living above your means.

Wow, that is awesome. Last month, my car alarm went off in the middle of the night, and I tore down the stairs and outside into the blackness of night. How stupid, but I didn't realize it until later.

I am glad she and her family are fine. I have experienced someone trying to break in while I was home twice during the day. It is scary.

Took the refrigerator? Dang, those are some ballsy thieves.

I'm still shocked that someone hauled the whole refrigerator away--how desperate was this person?
Thank God your niece is alright
does she have renters' insurance?

She is blessed! I just can't get over the things people would do these days.

That is really scary in more ways than one. Times are really hard right now between the economy, welfare at a 45 year low, and Meth. Keep them in your prayers.

Crikey I'm glad your niece and her family are okay. They are very brave to stay in the house after that.

It took me a while to read the post because I was so taken by the title. It's so true and yet so easy to forget, especially when you are busy and stressed and hardly taking time to think, let alone connect with Her. Thank you for the reminder of everything implied in this story and those four words.

TTG your family is safe!!!

What a close call -- she could have been hurt. What a blessing that everyone is alright.

*wavin -- hi rose!*

Wow, Rose -- your posts are always interesting. Yes, God is GOOD and he does protect you. I agree that it was a good thing that your niece and her children remained safe.

I'm glad they weren't hurt. I'm still stumped over the fact they took a whole refrigerator.

Amen! God did keep her safe. Can she invest in a home alarm system? Does she have renter's insurance?
