When Families Fight.....No body Wins.....

If a friend of yours got into an argument with your mother and they started fighting, what would you do? What if your mother told him to leave her mom’s house and the young guy 18 ignored her and that’s when your mom got in his face, so the guy started the fight? Now your mother is fighting your best friend and he is a male. You are standing back watching when your uncle pulls up and asks what’s going on then he jumps on the boy attacking his sister. Now your mother and uncle are fighting your best friend so you jump on your uncle and now you and your friend are fighting your uncle who was trying to help your mother. Do you get this? A friend of mines son watched his mother and friend fight, then he jumped in to help his friend fight his uncle who was helping his mother. The son protected his friend who initially disrespected his mother’s request to leave her mom’s house.

I thought the son was wrong….rather than support and help his friend fight he should have pulled them apart. However, I bet the son will never do something like that again. After his mother found a bat on the ground and beat her son and his friend with it, he won’t try her again. But still, what is the world coming to when you would hurt your mom and uncle to protect your friend? I told my friend her son is on drugs and she was fighting drugs….she is starting to believe me now. Now the family is hurting. The uncle is hurt because he spent so much time helping his nephew when he was growing up.....

I would think that definitely something is wrong. Because normally, Mom's are special. Just speaking about one's mother is usually fighting words. And whether your mother is in the wrong or not, usually one would defend their mother or other family member. So something seems wrong with that picture. Also, the friend has problems as well. For him, it seems okay to disrespect his elders AND to hit a female, instead of just walking away (especially when he's on HER property). Prayer is definitely needed for those two boys.

My, that was definitely a crisis situation! I agree with Cherlyn Michaels -- I think the guy should have asked his friend to leave when he refused to respect her wishes. If the friend continued to refuse to leave, then the boy should have become firmer and led the boy outside and talked with him if that was possible.

My first thought is prayer. I always pray in difficult situations.

um, wow
I wouldn't know what to do
If it was me and I came across them fighting, I'd go away and come back with a bucket of water

I would break it up and ask my friend if she/he had lost their d@#% mind! I would have walked them out of the house and told them not to even think about coming back.

This is a new world we are living in and even mom is no longer held in the regard of days of old...that is truly a shame and ANYONE that does not defend a woman is to be shamed. ( high five to mom who wore them out with that bat, lol!)

It all just seems like insanity to me. Mom's are special.

Fighting never solves anything...

What the hell?! Something is certainly not right with this picture. Your instinct that drugs play a part is probably right on.

Bats and guns to protect yourself and your property from family is plain crazy. Nonetheless, not just something we see on television anymore. It's creeping into every community.

It's all too confusing.

I DO know that I would beat up my brother to protect my Mom if she were beating up on my stepdad.

That's just about as sad as it gets. I can't imagine, wouldn't want to imagine, my son turning on me to help a friend cause me pain. My prayers are with this family, all of them.
