Giving him his due...

Oftentimes we don't give our men who are doing their best their due. We should let our brothers, fathers and husbands know when they are doing something right...I was thinking about my husband and emailed him this.

I just wanted you to know that I really do love you. After what 22.8 years you still blow my mind. I smile when I think of you on Christmas Day playing that child's guitar like you knew what you were doing and jumping up and down like you were in concert. That was so cute to me. When I came over and we danced while you played and tried to dance, mind you I said tried to, I saw our daughter smile and then she said, "You all are so silly." But guess what? When she looks for someone she is going to look for someone like her daddy a loving, kind, protective and fun person who will always care about her interests and feelings. That's because she’ll remember her dad and mom dancing and laughing, and caring for each other, even though they fuss sometimes....................

Thank you for being a good husband and a great father to your daughter...we love and appreciate you...

Sniff, sniff that is so beautiful! Makes me think of my daddy with all the wonderful memories he and my mom had. A simple, yet to the point post. Loved it!

Too cute. When I went home for Christmas, I was struck by how silly and in love my parents still are after all these years! May we all be that lucky! Here's to many more silly, loving memories for you and your honey!

Our children need to know what "love" is starting with their parents -- the most influential caregivers.

I was raised without a dad and many a night I cried in my bed as young girl wishing for him. Nonetheless, as an adult I can see how being fatherless has had great input in my relationship with my husband and parenting our two year old.
