Meet one of Prioritybooks Publications Newest Author..........

Carletta D. Washington is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. She has more than eleven years working in large and small public schools at the middle and high school levels as well as within the community. She is the Founder & CEO of EDUCATION 4 ALL, INC., a nonprofit community outreach organization, started in January 2002. She is also the educational columnist for the Spanish Lake Word newspaper. She is active in her church and community.

Carletta was very concern about the education achievement gap that exists between African Americans, Hispanics and Caucasians. As a teacher she experienced many issues that her students were having and noted that one of the most important issues facing our children is the lack of resources to support families as well as partnering with the church, community, parents and educators to support students achieving at all grade school levels.

Her new book Education Reform discusses the concept that in order for education reform to be successful we must all collaborate and become "one team" to address academic achievement success. She believes that teachers must take back their respect and work with the home, family and community to eliminate the education disparity among the races.

This is a must have for schools, libraries, teachers, parents and community members as well as the business sector. If you want to know what you need to do to help eliminate the achievement gap, visit Carletta at www.educationfourall.com or at www.prioritybooks.com.
This book can also be ordered from Amazon.com.

Interesting post. I would love to visit her website. I work in a non-profit organization that services at-risk kids and their families. Most of those kids are on probation and are court-ordered there. I work in the girl's program and yes, it would be good to turn some of our staff on to the website.

Also I teach little kids up to seven years of age in a cradle roll sabbath school class on Saturday mornings. Some of those kids cannot identify letters or numbers yet they attend school, I would say approximately first grade. I would really like to help them academically.
