Stick Me with a Fork, I’m Done

My niece was arrested this weekend for driving with her license or car insurance. My sister bought her a car contingent on her taking care of these two issues. Unfortunately against my advice she gave her the car first. I told her doing so was a mistake. She was so sure her daughter would handle her business. She has been driving about 2 months or a little more without so much of a thought of getting her license and insurance. I often reminded her that she needed to take care of these important issues. I further told her that if she was stopped and arrested don’t call my number.

This past Saturday she was stopped and arrested for not having insurance and a drivers’ license. She had to go to county jail until someone picked her up. I received a call from her mother and my own mom telling me about it. I immediately thank them for telling me and told them I would not help at all. I finally said bye to both of them. You cannot call me anymore for help when you knowingly break the law. I will not dish out money to irresponsible people who are too lazy to take care of their problems. This gravy train is over. Her siblings, mom and brother got her out. Never me again….

On Monday, February 28th, they went to pick up her car from the tow yard. Her mother had to pay 160 bucks to get the car released, another 168 dollars to get the car from the tow yard and she had to pay almost 200.00 dollars to get insurance as they would not allow it to be moved without it. First they paid 200 dollars to get her out of jail. Now an additional 528 bucks to get the car! Just wasting money! I told her mother to prepare herself to get her out next time because there will be one. You see today, she still did not go to get her license because she was riding around with her girlfriends.

When you keep bailing and rescuing teens, they will never step up. Why should they when they have you? All of my nieces and nephews are over the age of 19. This is old enough to listen and to know better. Forgive me when I say this, I am through bailing out teens who simply don’t care about taking care of their business. Stick me with a fork, cause truth be told, I am done.

If it was your relative what would you have done?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER

Happy Birthday DeeDee. Man time is really passing by. Just a couple of years ago I was sending my daughter off to college and wondering if I should allow her to take her car. Imagine she is now 22 years old.
I have to get that date off my pictures. Wrong date listed.

It Can Happen to Anyone

Domestic Violence affects every family it seems in one way or another. Either you know someone who experienced it, is going through, or you work in the social service industry, so you have probably seen it or heard about this horrible act.

Well, 2 weeks ago a young girl I know and love went through it. She is 21 years old, and the mother of two. She met a guy about six months ago and she thought he was an okay person. Last week she walked to the store and this angered him, so he smacked her on the side of her face with a gun. She received 12 stitches, a serious black eye and half a swollen face. Although she is doing better, she is very hurt and bewildered about this act. She has vowed never to see him again and she pressed charges.Right now she is living away from home. She is getting stronger everyday.

I have personally called the police department on several occasions to see if he has been picked up, but they never call back. So much for good policing! However, she did file a report and is pressing charges. I'm hoping she never goes back considering many women will, probably soon after the act. However, this mother has stayed strong. Heading into the third week, she said that no man who loves you would have done such a thing. I told her I agreed.

She said that people think her family members ought to get involved and kill this guy. I told her to keep them out of it. Why should they possibly loose their life by being killed or going to jail should they kill this guy. Let the law work. I know three officers and a police chief. So I will contact them in the morning and let them know that this person has not been picked up. I think it is a jurisdiction issue. She went to the hospital in another city and the warrant was issued there. So I am going to push this issue being resolved and this young man who carry guns can get what he has coming. I don’t want him to hurt another young girl. Get this! He is 21 too. Pray that our teenagers and young women will have enough value in themselves to stay away from young thugs.

Forrest Dumb!

Could you believe this?

It’s his 21st first birthday and he wants to do something super special. So he plans a romantic night at a Super 8 hotel. But hold up! He needs his girlfriend there to make it perfect. So he picks up the phone and dial:

The phone rings………

Hello Ms. Hudson, this is Danny. I am celebrating my 21st birthday and would like to celebrate at a hotel. Is it alright if your daughter Denise spends the night with me at the hotel?

Mother: What!!!?? I can’t believe this….Well, young man, ask her it’s her decision.

Young man: Okay thank you ma’am. I’ll ask her.

Mother to her oldest son: You wouldn’t believe what happened to day. (She briefs her 23 year-old son)

Son: I am kicking his Azz.

Mother: Don’t son. I think he is retarded.

This is a true story. A mother told me this today. She believes the boy had to be retarded to call her to get permission to take her daughter to a hotel for sex. He was not having a party. I guess he thought he would be respectful and ask her mom. By calling the boy retarded, she was not putting down people who may be special. It was the act. Those are her words. I know the boy. I suspected he was a tad slow. Now I know he is. Note to me. I am writing the wrong books people. (Names were changed)

Gorgeous Keke Palmer

I think Keke is gorgeous but with this dress and heels, she doesn't appear to be 15. She looks so much older. I wouldn't have allowed my daughter to dress so sexy at this age. I guess it is the signs of the times.

What the Heck was She Thinking?

I happened to find my niece on the web with this big stupid tattoo across her chest. This is a niece that I am very close to, whom I spend at least 1 day a week with, who calls me everyday. She is the one who had the break in while she was asleep.
http://prioritybooks.blogspot.com/2008/07/god-is-so-awesome-my-niece-finally.html
She has been doing a good job with her life and taking good care of her kids. Though she is indeed a woman, who can make her own decisions, clearly she was ashamed of this one, since she has been hiding it. No wonder she has been draped so tightly in clothes in the chest area when I see her. She even looks hot wrapped up like a mummy trying to hide this silly looking tattoo. Apparently, these young people are more impressed with fads then thinking how things will affect them later in life. I guess she even put a hole near her lip because she now wears an earring there. I will mention to her this weekend that she can now remove all those hot clothes because her secret is out. What a mess!

Next Strategy

Everyday no matter what I do or hard it is I will never stop trying to encourage a teen to achieve at their highest level…

This is why when President Obama said in his speech that all people should further their education, I thought I would use this influential person’s message to motivate a teenager. I called my young nephew and said, “President Obama is encouraging everybody to further their education and to go back for higher education.” I held the phone tightly. I was thinking Obama is the first African American President, maybe my nephew will believe that all is possible; maybe he’ll listen this time. He jogged me out of my thoughts, “We should never have voted him in, huh?” I wasn’t expecting that. I hung up the phone.

Okay that didn’t work. I’m thinking about what to do next. I will never give up on him.

Teens- Will they ever learn?

I do not believe that teens know how much their parents worry about them when they hang out in the dangerous streets late at night. What is it that makes them feel invincible? Why do they believe that nothing will ever happen to them? I just wish that teenagers would grow up and be more responsible……..fast…..

When Families Fight.....No body Wins.....

If a friend of yours got into an argument with your mother and they started fighting, what would you do? What if your mother told him to leave her mom’s house and the young guy 18 ignored her and that’s when your mom got in his face, so the guy started the fight? Now your mother is fighting your best friend and he is a male. You are standing back watching when your uncle pulls up and asks what’s going on then he jumps on the boy attacking his sister. Now your mother and uncle are fighting your best friend so you jump on your uncle and now you and your friend are fighting your uncle who was trying to help your mother. Do you get this? A friend of mines son watched his mother and friend fight, then he jumped in to help his friend fight his uncle who was helping his mother. The son protected his friend who initially disrespected his mother’s request to leave her mom’s house.

I thought the son was wrong….rather than support and help his friend fight he should have pulled them apart. However, I bet the son will never do something like that again. After his mother found a bat on the ground and beat her son and his friend with it, he won’t try her again. But still, what is the world coming to when you would hurt your mom and uncle to protect your friend? I told my friend her son is on drugs and she was fighting drugs….she is starting to believe me now. Now the family is hurting. The uncle is hurt because he spent so much time helping his nephew when he was growing up.....
