Hire A Teen Today, Won't you Please?

For two days we have been confined to the house due to a serious snow and ice storm. So today on day 2, two young teens about 11 and 12-years-old came to our house to ask to shovel the snow. My husband was like no thanks. But I called the guys back and asked how much they charged and hired them. Why not hire the teens to do honest work? They only charged 20.00. I think these kinds of small jobs help teens have good character.

I remember how my brothers did the same type of jobs like shoveling snow, leaves or just being a paperboy and they turned out just fine. Maybe if all of us hired teens to do chores, maybe they won’t seek the hard life of selling drugs or maybe robbing folks because we hired them and put some money in their pockets. Isn’t that what neighborhoods are supposed to be about- neighbors helping neighbors? Hire a teen today and maybe you can help inspire him or her to reach higher heights.

That's true. If not us, who?

When you say "yes" to a teen, there’s a high possibility that it translates into "I believe in you!"

Good for you Rose for taking on the teens. If more of us were like you perhaps there wouldn't be as much trouble with the teens.
