Too Much Stuff

There has been a lot happening in my city as well as around the world. First these ridiculous gas prices that's effecting everybody's pockets. Then these severe storms that causing all kinds of havoc. We have been having so many that every lightening strike causes me to shudder. In the past that never happened but so many deaths and devastation is happening now that yes these storms are becoming something to fear.

We also had an earthquake. It measured 5. 2. Wow! That was something else to be violently shakened out of your sleep. That earthquake was high for this city. See what I mean? There's just too much happening lately. The last earthquake that I remember was in the 80's. Still, I'm glad that we survived it.
Finally less than 25 minutes away teens are killing each other in drive by's and taking innocent victims in the wrong place at the wrong time. So many young deaths, almost too many to count. But the men are stepping up, more than 20,000 gathered last week to try to take their city back. They are trying to help stop these killings. Let's pray it work.
What's happening on your side of the world?

In our news yesterday, road rage suspects kill grandma [69] and shoot a little girl.

My mother called me from out of state about this. I don't watch the news and this why. Sad.

People have no regard for human life.

Storms and earthquakes are scary.

Hell has arisen Rosey. Between the heat index rising sky high, and folks just plain losing their minds when THAT happens, it's just the same ol' same ol'. I'm a hop, skip and a jump away from DC and the nonsense that goes on merely 30 miles away is unreal. Time to get away and drive to NY for a week or so. Oops, did I say DRIVE? You mean with gas at nearly $4.00 a gallon?? Geez!

Ms. Rose...it is SO hard for me to muster up compassion for the gas prices in America when we pay $2.27 A LITER for the SAME stuff...that is 2.27 times 3.79 to get a per gallon price. We have seen rice prices go from $7.00 for 5 lbs to 9.00 for the SAME bags that no one purchased at the 7.00 price because it was just ¤4.00 the week before. I was just talking to my cousin in Philadelphia today about how much we miss our older generation that shared, cared and consoled us youth in our time of panic and crisis...

Oh, geeze. Nothing new under the sun, is there? The gas prices, omG, can't believe it. Heard someone say today at physical therapy that for awhile, gas was the same for a gallon as water. Never thought of it that way. We rarely complaing about paing $3 somthing for a gallon of water, and to me, that's a lot of money for water! Oh well...lovin' my little car!

As far as people killing people, again...nothing new under the sun. I just don't get it.

Nothing too much beyond 100 degree heat. And I try not to watch the news. I find that it helps me cope better with the ways of the world.

Hey,

I just wanted to stop by and see how you were doing. I didn't expect to read that you were living through major natural disasters. Glad your alright.

I'm sorry to hear about the young folk where you live. Heat + kids+ no supervision or structure - just messed up stuff happening everywhere. I won't even start on the grown folk who lose their minds when the sun shines at the right angle and intensity. SMH.
