Looking Back’
When I was young in the Baptist Church we always did those sweet little Easter Plays. My family has always been Christians and regular church members. We were also very active. As a child we spent many hours practicing for our Easter speeches, too excited and hardly able to wait until we stood before our families, visitors and friends and recited our hard learned speeches. Even to this day, I still remember some of the speeches I practiced to say.
When I was about three I remember this one:
I’m just a little Easter Lillie……….
That was all and folks would just clap for me.
Then when I was about five I would say:
See my pretty little Easter egg, (holding up for the audience to see)
Don’t you think it’s pretty?
If I happened to let it fall, (dropping it to the floor hard enough for it to crack)
Won’t it be a pity?
Well, last night I watched my daughter take my place being the Easter Bunny making and delivering baskets and coloring eggs for my six grand nieces and nephews and for 17 other children. It’s funny to see how traditions are passed from generations to generations.
Happy Easter to you all!

Happy Easter, Rose!
Happy Easter Rose!!
Thanks for sharing this story. I remember the "real" feeling of Easter past, myself.
That's pretty cool, passing on the decorating torch to your daughter. One day she'll be saying the same thing as you, as she passes it on. And there you have life. :)
Hope your Easter was great.
I'm late getting here, so I hope that you and your family had a good Easter.
Hope you had a lovely Easter Rose and how nice that your daughter now takes your place :).
I am SO devistated that we have seemed to abandon all of our traditions after moving abroad. The things that we did seemed so long ago but thanks for reminding me that they in fact DO matter!
