We complain, yet we do nothing!

I am impressed that a group of immigrants decided to show their power in strength to get their message across. No matter what their issues are you can respect a person for standing up in what they believe in.

This week the demonstrators march in downtown Dallas Sunday in a protest urging federal lawmakers to pass immigration reform that would legalize an estimated 11 million undocumented workers. Police estimated the crowd at between 350,000 and 500,000.

As many as a half million immigrants and their supporters spilled into the streets of downtown Dallas on Sunday, streaming through a canyon of glimmering skyscrapers in what one activist described as the largest civil rights march in the city's history. The massive protest, one of more than a dozen occurring nationwide, was a prelude to at least 70 demonstrations expected to take place today in Houston, Los Angeles, New York and other cities.

The protesters are urging federal lawmakers to reform the nation's immigration laws and allow an estimated 11 million undocumented workers to become legal residents. They began demonstrating in scattered cities in March in protest of a proposal passed by the U.S. House of Representatives that would make being in the United States without proper documentation a federal crime.

"This is the largest civil rights march in the history of Dallas," said former Texas Rep. Domingo Garcia, who helped organize the event. "We're making history."

My questions is this: when are we gonna make a stand about our President? Efforts are under way by a group of politicians who want the President impeached. What are we going to do to help? It seems that almost daily there is something else coming out of his administration, yet we sit back and do nothing.

I know the President is not God, and he is thus not a perfect man. What I am most concerned about is the way that he openly lies, and spin his wheels about nothing. He does and say what he wants and he fears nothing from the people because he knows that we quack like a duck, and sings like a canary...to the tune of nothing........

The immigrants are willing to risk everything, even being deported. What are we willing to risk to make our voices heard?

Why do I keep asking that question, especially on your blog?

I hope we can get the nerve to do something...

We're too comfortable to do right now.

It's for their rights. Hope they get due justice...

Immigrants in Maryland have been organizing for years. They have a very powerful say in the state house - they successfully killed several bills that would make it difficult for them to get driver's licences and to educate their children. Lift every voice!
