Why Wait!

I don't mean to make folks sad. I just want to drive home a point. We should let people know that we love them everyday. I do this with my family. Imagine losing the one you love and never having an opportunity to say, "I love you." This mother never dreamed she would lose her child so young. "She was healthy and happy and very loved by her parents", her mother and pastor said on the news. Her name was Taylor Jennings and she was nine. Last week she slumped in her chair in her classroom. The school nurse was unable to revive her. She was in the third grade. She was not ill and was very healthy. They did an autopsy to find out that she had a heart infection after never having any heart problems.

Have you told someone lately how much they are appreciated and love?

Give people their roses now while they can smell them....

are a great way to show people you are happy to have them in your life.

This is a beautiful post. Tomorrow isn't promised. In our family we always tell each other we love them, its as natural as breathing.

Couldn't agree with you more!!!

PS: Next time you make your links, copy them to a file on MSWord so they'll never be lost. I had to learn that the hard way too. Lost my links a few months ago!!!!

I agree, Rose. Several years ago, I suddenly lost my oldest child. I tell my surviving children often how much I love them, and I give them hugs, even if I have to chase them. I've been known to chase them down the street, with my hair flying. Of course, I never catch them! :-)
Great post with a very timely reminder.

Your pictures or your link is too long for the page, if you shorten it , everything should move back up to the top of your blog.

Just a friendly helper

OMG, that is so sad. Especially true for parents and spouses. How many times have you started a day yelling at your child or mate? Imagine never seeing them alive again. Makes you think of that Stevie Wonder song, "These Three Words."

Rose, why don't you use blogrolling.com to host your links to other blogs? That way you can format them easily and you won't lose them when you make changes to your template?

Yes we do need to show people we love them more outwardly. I was thinking about this very same thing last week. I am very affectionate but I see that most people aren't. We could at least take a few minutes in a week to tell the people closest to us we care. We have to before it's too late. It was a sad post Rose but also a beautiful one that needed to be said.

Such a wonderful reminder in such hard time. Thanks.

Thank you so much for your visit and for this reminder as well. I always tell the ones I love just how much I love them, but there are times when my heart just so wells up with love for my family members that it is something so incredible, I just have to let them know that too. Love for love's sake is a gift from God.

Thank you for the reminder :-) Have a beautiful day.

Right on point Rose. I tell my family I love them all the time. What a sad story - but it goes to show you, you never know.

OMGosh! How horrible. I agree with you and before I leave my kids or husband for any reason, even if it's to run get a gallon of milk, I kiss them and tell them I love them before I leave.

Great point, thanks!

Yes, many of us need a crash course in love and respect so that we can teach our children to do the same.

I really did not leave a comment yesterday? Wow. Anyway, I always make a point of letting my family and friends know how much I love them. Without a doubt, I know the importance. Marvelous post. Some of us do need a little reminding every now and again :).

The very last thing I said to my father before he died ~ completely unexpectedly ~ was "Love you, Daddy." It was the greatest gift...

Wow. That's so sad, but you made a good point. I tend to think about that a lot, so I try not to go to sleep mad at someone, or hold grudges.

Rose I just added your blog to my links. I'd love it if you add mine to your links if you want.

I tell my family and my best friends I love them every time we speak. And it's rare that I don't talk to them everyday, even if it's only for a minute.

This post was touching. Loved it Rose.

That was sad. Nice post.

I think it's really difficult to live everyday with a loving attitude. At least it is for me. I guess I could try harder.

It would be nice to appreciate those around us while we're here on a spiritual journey since our human journey is short lived. Tomorrow is never promised but today is now in the moment.

My heart goes out to the mother of that child. I too lost a son unexpectedly at 14 months old and nothing could ever describe loosing a child no matter what age.

This is the ultimate reminder of letting your love ones know that you love them with hugs and kisses.

Great Reminder and I love the pictures.

My youngest sister and I haven't always been so lovey dovey, especially growing up as kids. Now that we're older, I always tell her that I love her and she says it back!! Its such a great feeling! Sharing love in the family!

I, too, always tell people I love them. Sometimes it may be in a tad of a 'smartass' way, but those who know me, know I mean it.
Great post.
