Is your word bond?

Often I am asked to do something that I don’t always want to do. Yet I agree to do it because it seems like the right thing to do. But when someone promises me that they are going to do something and doesn’t that really bother me.

Recently, I had a discussion with my siblings about setting up a pool of money monthly to split with my parents. We would basically put in 25.00 to 50.00 per month and split it with our parents so that they could have some extra money monthly just for themselves. I wanted to ask them for a 100.00 each but thought I would start small. There are six of us children.

On the scheduled date, only two of us did what we said. As a matter of fact we both put in 150.00 each. Good we did because my 4 other siblings had all kinds of excuses. None of the excuses to me were important, maybe just to them. I mean buying a gown teenager (18 yrs. old) Fourth of July clothing from head to toe so he could look good (What) when he's lazy and..... well you know what I mean.

Another one had to get the latest Prada purse...Jeez, my mother and father are more important to me than a new purse or buying some $100.00 gym shoes with a matching outfit to boot.....I don’t know. I guess my parents always told me that you only had three things that are yours...your word, your credit and your education. They always said nobody could really take those. That was until identity fraud became a thing.....But your word is bond. It's like glue, like solid, for sure....and when you break that bond....it's hard to count on you for anything else.
