Just a Prayer Away

Too much is going on today,
Causing so much pain and that’s not ok,
I’m seeing too many folks, who are being hurt,
My goodness, we need to all go to church.
Praying is what I say we must do,
To keep us safe, pray for me and I’ll pray for you.

Too much is going on across the world and words can’t explain what I am feeling- try as I might. I just have to keep praying and believing that everything is going to be all right. To all the people across the world who is suffering from earthquakes, death in the family, illness and employment know that we as a people are praying that a higher prayer will intervene.

Why go to church? As far as I know people who were reared in the church tend to have more compassion for people. Am I wrong or right? I don't want to generalize statements about groups, etc., but I do believe that when people are reared in the church and by parents who teaches them to respect others, etc., they seem to care more about people. People are saying that many of the people who are being murdered in broad daylight are possibly killed by crack babies. I just think we are all trying to find answers.

My niece's boyfriend was standing in front of a store talking to his friend when a car drives up shooting at them. The bullets were meant for the guy he was with, he died at the scene. My niece's boyfriend took six bullets. The doctors brought him back I'm told and he is doing very well, talking and grieving. Six bullets and still here to tell the story. He is a young 20- year-old. God is good!

A Drink on Him

I couldn’t help myself. I was passing by a site where a young man was killed and this caught my eye. It wasn’t the stuff animals, it was the gin bottles. I couldn’t help myself. I had to take the picture with my cell phone.

Put the Cell Phone Down, Please

I decided many months to stop talking on the phone and driving. I stop running my mouth on the phone after reading that others had died or killed others because they were driving and talking on the phone. There was a time when I enjoyed driving and talking as it helped the boredom of driving almost 35 minutes a day one way to the office. But after once talking on the phone and looking up to find that I had driven almost an hour away from my destination I knew I had to stop.

Several other things trimmed down my drive talk.

# I found myself lost and did not know where I was because I was talking and driving. Nothing was familiar.

# I pulled to a four way stop sign and we all were on the phone. That scared me.

# Over ten accidents, and more than 15 deaths occurred last summer and the deaths were attributed to at least one of the drivers talking on the phone.

Now if I get a call, I pull into a grocery store or other busy lot to talk. I don't want to kill myself or ever cause another person to die because I did something stupid.
