The sad thing about some women is this: we continue to prove that women just don’t support each other. Why is Etta James so pissed at Beyonce over singing her song, At Last? The thing is every time I have seen Beyonce promoting her movie Cadillac she gave props to Etta. I just think as women we need to support each other and stop giving the public a drama show. Etta get over it!. Don’t prove stereotypical views about Black women and women in general.

I agree. Etta needs to stop trippin' because she didn't write the song nor was she the first to record it.
When I first read Etta's statements, it seemed clear (to me, anyway) she was speaking tongue in cheek and being playful. Apparently, I'm the only one who read it this way, though.
Chele I actually thought she wrote it by the way she came across.
Bostonpobble: After it hit the airways and paper it later came out that she was doing a comedy skit. (supposely) But you have to be careful what you say or do. People make so many assumptions about you. Plus as you can see, everybody took this situation differently then maybe it was intended.
Remember that actor from Steinfeld, where is he now? His career pretty much ended because of his comedy skit that was negative and put race into play.
This was so disappointing to read.
I am also disappointed by Ms. James' statements.
