****Thanks to each of you who are praying for my niece and other abuse teens and women.***

****New Post****

Ten things that I recently discovered about me...

This has been an amazing year for me. I have grown in ways that I never thought possible. My blogging friend Envizable tagged me recently but before I could respond I had to really think this out. This is what I realized:

  1. I give my heart too quickly because I love people. Though I am learning to be more careful to who I give this to. I trust too easily but I am learning.
  2. I love this earth, the land, and its' beauty. I learned that I love the scenic mountains, beautiful oceans and sunsets. Before Hurricane Katrina I didn't think much of this.
  3. My passion is writing, my talent is motivating people, my desire is to be a better person.
  4. I am not afraid to say that I love God. I use to hold that in because I didn't want to offend people who didn't feel the same way. Now I will shout out, yes I am a Christian and yes I love God.
  5. I hate these extra pounds that I am carrying. I sympathize with overweight people because I know that weight is hard to loose.
  6. I love comedies because laughing make me feel good.
  7. I hate scary, bloody, movies that show people being killed in the most horrific ways. I believe that when folks see this stuff they can't help but become immune to it. I believe that when you take garbage in like this, you can expect garbage to come back out of the person who is taking this stuff in.
  8. People who lie makes me sick. I seriously can not deal with liars in any way. I do not trust them or want them in my presence.
  9. I hate to see people suffer in any way whether it is sickness, sadness, hunger, unemployment, etc.
  10. I spoiled my only child rotten, now I pray that she will be able to grow, love, and become successful even though I think she has had too many material things. Sometimes I justified this because honestly she is a beautiful and respectful person and she has never given me or her dad any problems in her 17 years of life. Yet, while spoiling her I truly believed that I was doing the best thing.....

Bonus: I love people who are perceived as underdogs. I believe that God put everyone of us here for a reason and that everybody deserves to be respected and love.. when people mistreat others because they believe that they are better, richer or prettier, I draw them in and treat them better than Queens or Kings. This is me......the real me.............

Awesome, Rose! This is beautiful! And I am so with you on the horror movies. They disgust me.

Blessings!

#4 is awesome! I think it's something most Christians have a hard time dealing with sometimes, not because they don't truly love our Heavenly Father or are ashamed, but because like you say, nobody wants to offend others. One of my favorite sayings is, "you gotta stand for something or you'll fall for anything." I can't think of anything more important to stand for!

it's always nice to get to know more about people...you are truly a beautiful person, Rose. May you be blessed as you continue to discover things about yourself, and further explore and develop the things you love.

btw, I LOVE that picture of you!

What a sweetheart.

#s 2, 8, and 9 would explain why you don't like the bush regime. ;-)

It's not that we're against him... he's against us and what we stand for.

Rose, I love this post! I learned a lot the year as well. I think i'm going to post my list sometime this month. My goodness, that bonus was fire.... that's why I love stories like the Color Purple or Rudy.. stories of Triumph! God is good. And as long as the underdogs put God first, they will have VICTORY. I KNOW I AM WALKING IN VICTORY RIGHT NOW! Thanks sista.

Rose, come on now, come on. Sometimes we all gotta lie! I mean if that lady in the store comes up to you and asks you if her baby's ugly and you know damn well it is, you gonna tell her the truth? LOL! Don't tell me you would. We all have to lie a little. But there are good lies and bad ones. Good lies are when you pretend you like your friend's family when you know you can't stand them. Bad lies are...well anything that comes out of President Bush's mouth. And that is definitely no lie, LOL!

Nice list of growth...I am learning that I am becoming more sensitive to other's pain. I used to detach from my emotions. Now whenever I see people suffering I sympathize with them and cry way too much when I see victims.

I hate it when people lie too. That's one of my biggest pet peeves.

Great list Rose!
