Kids Say the Cutest Things!

I am so sensitive and I hurt easily but I am not weak. There are things that make me sad but I laugh a lot too. Babies and kids are my favorite. Kids do and say the cutest things....

When my daughter was 9 she came home to tell me that the girl students were told by their teacher that some girls were starting their periods (menstrual cycle) and they would be having an assembly to discuss this more because of the problems that this was causing to the schools' plumbing system. I had taught my child about mentrual cycles. So she was rather unfamiliar with folks calling it a period. When she heard the word period she could not make the connection. She was so shocked! Mom she said excitedly, "I learned all about periods, commas and question marks in the first grade". Looking up at me like what's wrong with these kids. I thought that was so funny!

Another time my niece who I helped to raise by picking her up almost every weekend of her life (and other things I did), said to me in a card she gave me for my birthday...I always knew that I would love you even before I was born...Now that was cute...I was thinking how could she know that as a fetus? She and I are so connected forever. It is her baby I blogged about several weeks ago.

What's something cute that you have heard a kid say?

My best friend's four year old daughter called me the other night. I didn't hear it ring so she left a message: "Hi Brea it's me! Bye!" I thought it was so cute - I still have it saved :)

When my son was in first grade, his gym teacher had to take time off because his mom had passed away. Nathan (my son) decided to send him a card telling him he was sorry he lost his mom, and he added in the card:

"What happened to your mom? Did she have a "hard" attack or did "she's" brain get weird?"

It's the thought that counts, right? =)

btw, rose...pretty pic!

I live in a large joint family. One of my brother’s son was playing while I was absorbed, reading newspaper one Sunday morning. He started crying and tried to draw my attention by showing a blood stain on his little finger. Distracted, I asked, “what can I do for this,” pointing at his finger.

He said, “You can at least say, Oh!

I will remember this for a long time.

Even teenagers can be funny. My daughter came home from school a couple of days and told me about a classroom experience.

A girl in my daughter's class has a reputation for having a bad attitude. My daughter is just the opposite, but on this particular day, my daughter had had enough. The girls started exchanging words.

Suddenly one of the black boys in the class yelled, "REMIX!" All of the black kids started singing "Work it Out." A girl got up and started dancing down the aisle, gesturing to the girls every time she sang the words "work it out."

My daughter and her classmate stopped arguing. My daughter, trying not to laugh, just said, "WhatEVER." The white kids and teachers just looked around, with puzzled looks on their faces!

I don't tell the story as well as my daughter, but I wish I were in the classroom that day.

that was too cute....

I was driving some of my little cousins to KFC in my hometown. Now it's a small town and we just built a new fire department. Some of the fire fighters were outside playing basketball. Knowing that since we live in such a small town and there isn't much else for them to do most of the time, I made a smart little remark like "don't they have something else to do other than playing basketball?" My 6 year old cousin Jason said "what do you think they're supposed to be doing? paperwork?"

I laughed and said "Jason you're a mess." He said "Well,if I'm a mess, then clean me up."

That child is too much...

kids are the most honest people ... they have learned to censor themselves yet, which can be refreshing and scary!

Rose I thank you so very much for the love you have shown me...I appericate it:)

The cutest thing for me had to be when my youngest nephew he's 5 now...told me not to leave his house (it was dark outside at the time) because I could get "losed" out there. It was so funny cause he was so serious.

I don't have kids of my own, but I always get a kick out of my friends' kids. And my friends always have a supply of humorous stories about them to tell. It's never-ending!

Rose, you are so beautiful...and so talented.

I have had varicose veins since pregnancy and my 2+ year old niece recently noticed them. I told her what they are called because she was so curious. I told her that they hurt from time to time...she just shook her head nodding "yes" to what I said and then moved on to something else. A few weeks later, she saw them again and told my husband..."Aunt Deb's legs hurt becasue her veins are very close."

Very close = Varicose.

It made sense to all of us and we laughed!!! Outta the mouths of babes.

When I was 19 years old I was dating a guy. That guy would come around and play with my 5 years of cousin. ONe day when he left my little cousin asked me if he brushes my hair and gives me hugs. I told him U know Lala he doesn't. She looked at me and Said "Oh, he doesn't. He must not love you. Because I even hug my dolls and brush their hair"

I thought that was cute.

The other thing my mentees 4 son told me. I mentor a girl who is 19 and struggling, plus a mother. I went to their house and he said to me. Ms. Mentor sit donw and have a food and drinks. We do not have a lot so do not eat too much. I made me sad at the same time wonder. What a mind...

Ms Rose I love you. U always have a cute posts

Brea and Picesgurrl, 4 year olds are wonderful. Very inquisitve, very smart.

Teen's life and Michelle-kids are so special when they are trying but get it all confused..

Jazegama2 and Shirazi-from the mouth of babes-yea they're right most of the time.

Mytruth and DCS- kids are very honest. If they tell you something, you best believe.

DCS-thanks for that story-our babes will grow up and bring us more things to laugh about.

Bownsoul-Jason said to clean him up, most kids want someone to clean them up. That way they feel that you care. Jason is very smart.

Cane that is what scares me the most. They are to honest. I heard a small child about three years old say to a lady, "you are so ugly". I felt sorry for the lady, it was not my child (had it been I wouldn't have know what to say other than that's not Christ like). But truth be told, the child was honest. The lady was blessed with a great personality and a beautiful spirit, so to me she was beautiful.

Dee Dee thank you. You write wonderful stories. Sometimes when I feel all the energy leaving I read your blogs and you keep me laughing. Thank you for spreading the joy...

Ruben and Cherlyn- you guys come back and visit. Thanks for stopping by..

Dr. Deb.
That's funny. Very close-varicose.
Thank you for your nice compliments and for your great advice.

No the game: thank you. I have much love for you to. Those are both great stories. The kids you spoke of shows much love, must have rub off you...(smile)

Tre- You must be awfully nice. Eveybody's trying to hook you up. Great story.

Lady in Satin-Welcome back. You know I love me some babies. They are too cute when they are showing emotions.

Thanks to all of you for your stories. You have made many folks smile with those wonderful stories.

I have enjoyed reading every one of these! Definitely TOO CUTE! You never know what will come out of kids' mouths.

There's so many things that literally cracked me up when I taught school. One day a boy was talking about how he couldn't wait to study sex ed. Another boy who was younger and rather naive, was walking with us and after a thoughtful moment he looked up at me and said (so seriously), "I don't know him. Is Sex Ed. related to Mr. Ed?"

Shirazi-yes that is me.

Gramyactress@21: your post on family had me crying with laughter. So guess what! I can believe your son told your coworker that....remember I am a frequent visitor of your blog...
